ABSTRACT
Below is a photo report from Millennium'2003 Demoparty.
The pictures themselves were taken mostly by two people: H.A. and Saboteur. Somebody else who used my camera could make a few shots as well but I don't know if anyone did that. :)
In despite of the fact that here you may see much more photos than during party days, we could not upload all of the 219 ones!!! All of the photos and a few videos will be available on Millennium'2003 Demoparty CD which is about to be ready. :)
Unfortunately, I could not give exact comments for all of the photos; in case of any error please mail me at sergei@scenosaurus.org.
Please note that images of higher quality (1280x960 pixels) are available in the new window at single mouse click on the image.
DAY ONE
There were no much adventures in the morning of day one except for the fact that I have forgotten a TV-IN/OUT cable at home. However, we have found a workaround for this trouble... Well, let's start with the party stuff.
My hardware and me had arrived to the partyplace in the taxi. What a surprise, most of the organizers were there already. ;) In a short time before the party started we have received a really huge screen instead of our tiny one. However, projector delivery was delayed, and this resulted into delay with the whole event opening. :(
Well, we had unpacked the hardware and started to work on all that wires, etc. :)

The photo above: Dreg's PC (by the way, it glows sexy in the dark). Dreg is one of the Aucon'2003 organizers, you may see him smiling on the left along with DJ Psych signing diplomas on the right (the photo below). Further, I will use the "left-to-right" scheme when naming persons in the pictures.

Below is that legendary screen:

It is worth to note that there is an ultraviolet highlight in the "Blindage" club, so it was quite easy to write on white vote lists and check the bills in the dark. :) Please pay attention at the part of JBL sound system at the right side of the photo above. The sceners who are tall enough were constantly checking it out... with their heads. ;(

Flame looks so natural... but actually it is composed of a piece of fabric, higlight, and the air stream. :)

Well, it's a hard work to sign such a great bunch of diplomas. Paul Pavlov (ZX Spectrum compo organizer and Virtual
TR-DOS web-master) does the job. :)

BTW, you can observe a cooler in Dreg's PC above (no, it's not Cooler/Psycho who looks like differently ;)).
While we were looking into hardware setup, DJ Psych had published an evil message to those who had promised to visit the party but actually didn't (yomoma.ru, etc) using the party notebook.

At the partyplace entrance, near the place where tickets were sold, and where security service was looking for illegal vodka, a table with votelists and VIP badges was set up. Woolf took a badge of some Russian scener and then introduced himself as a representative of Russian secret service from Armavir. :)

Paul Pavlov is on the left, and a girl that I don't know is on the right. :) A table with vote lists and badges.

Party visitors are examining vote lists
While we were setting up party hardware, the public should be entertained somehow. That is why, according to old tradition, an A1 sheet of paper was glued to the wall, and everybody could write anything there. When one side of the sheet was full, we'd used other one; next day a brand new sheet was used.
You know, this year none of the markers disappeared, and the sheets themselves weren't lost! :)

While drinking beer (and vodka as well ;)) DJ Psych distributed free pens among the party visitors (those pens were used to fill vote lists in).

Since bar in the club was open, many of the sceners decided to use it at full speed. ;) They say that legendary Mast/FreeArt was taken out of the partyplace because he was pretty drunk. ;)

As you may know, this year we had Millennium Demoparty in parallel with Aucon LAN party (both events were held in one place). The modding compo took place in the scope of Aucon (the term "modding" means modifying computers according to one's personal fantasies ;)). No-one could ever imagine that modding will pretty fit both events. This nice show was filmed by local STV.

Well, I cannot tell much about compos of the first day since I was busy with the party stuff... To say more, I think that party reports from visitors should be much more interesting.

Music Compo Started
By the way, after each party we're receiving evil but fair criticism from Saboteur. We're waiting for it now as well. ;) In despite of the fact that Saboteur put a drain on my camera battery pack, we've got some nice photos this time.

Meanwhile, the public was finishing with the A1 paper sheet on the wall...
